Installation is automatic with ABB Ability™ History

The Calculation Tool is automatically installed with ABB Ability™ History 5.3 since October 2020.

The basic setup produced by the ABB Ability™ History installer is a fully working setup. You can start developing calculations without installing anything extra. However, a so-called 'production setup' is recommended. In that, the calculation service and calculation processes are run outside the ABB Ability™ History computer(s). That is achieved by installing Calculation Service to another computer. That computer should be clean of ABB Ability™ History components. The purpose of this setup is to minimize security risks as the service and calculation processes on another computer don't have access to ABB Ability™ History computer's operating system and other resources.
